Carla Cilvik’s love of writing began as a child and she allowed that passion to carry her throughout her life, eventually guiding her to obtain a BA degree in English from Clarion University, PA. After graduating in 2014, she decided to stay the course, and become a freelance editor and proofreader. She’s had the privilege of working with writers from all over the world to help them release their artistic visions into the world. She then carried the creative torch, and self-published her first poetry collection, Sanctity of Season in 2017. It was at that time she realized all the poems she’s accumulated through the years weren’t doing any good hidden to the world in a binder on the bottom of a bookshelf! For Carla, poetry is a way of life, as essential and important as breathing. More consistent writing ensued which led her to this second collection of poems. She is proud to have it published under Pennington Press, a division of Hydra Publications.

The stars are within us. The oceans swim under our skin. Plants and animals breathe with us.
These poems explore and reflect our connectedness to each other, nature, and the cosmos. They show how Love is the most powerful force. These poems also offer encouragement when you might feel small or insignificant— like your actions do not matter. I’m here to tell you they do matter. Just like the butterfly effect; every word and action creates a ripple and carries energy throughout time and space. To touch another soul, to touch a piece of nature, to touch the stars.
